Are there any fees that has to be paid when the amount is declared? And is this for visitors only?
There is no fees for bringing foreign exchange into India. It is applicable to all passengers irrespective of their nationality or purpose of visit to India. However no import of Indian money is allowed by non resident Indians / foreign nationals. Indian residents can bring in up to Rs. 7.500.

This is exactly what I have been saying for the last couple of months. This CIR is going to doom all EB immigrants. Obama's immigration enforcer is Dick Durbin, he has all the "compassion" in the world for illegals, he sponsors dream act, he wants to give amnesty to illegals but when it comes to eb he wants all of us to be kicked out. "Change" is definetely comming, no doubt about it but it is going to be a rude shock for the eb community. A bunch of people gave me reds for pointing it out. CIR is a speeding train with Obama\Durbin\kennedy driving it, it will stop only for illegals, it will crush all eb people under it. Please wake up and stop cheering for CIR. Instead call congresswoman Lofgren and ask her for visa recapture. Dont mention anything about cir, just ask for visa recapture. She is the only democrat who gives a damn about us.

Anytime he talked about legal immigration, he only made references to family based immigration backlogs. Never have I heard him talk about EB VISA backlogs.I think we are in for a change which not going be so good after all.

Couple of questions : I am planning to apply for EAD . I have already filed 485 on July 2 and got receipt no.s .
1. where to file : Here is the catch when filing 485 i am in IL and later moved on to CT. I have updated all addresses etc to CT and everything fine. Since i was in IL for 485 I applied to NSC now i am in CT and here it is VSC for form EAD. So where should i send my application to NSC or VSC?
2. Efile or regular : which is good efile or regular filing. I filing myself and requested attorney's view he said he would prefer normal way as its better and i can see checks cashing and make that a proof of receipt in case of reciept notice lost.
Need ur views.
I think you should file where your I-485 is pending.
I filed my paper-based EAD application last friday and already got receipt number from the cashed check.

If you e-File, you'll have to go for another fingerprinting appointment, which I wanted to avoid as the ASC is 30 miles from my place. Wasting half a day just to get receipt a few days sooner didn't make sense to me. I got the receipt number within 3 working days anyway.
